One day in Austin where Mexican innovation, culture and community meet, during Austin Tech Week. We are looking for people with something real to say about where technology and culture meet.

The program
Three ideas. One stage.
Every session speaks to one of the ideas the program is built on.

How technology gives Mexican voices, stories and communities more reach, without flattening what makes them distinct.

How context, identity and lived experience make technology better, more trusted and faster to adopt.

Leadership strengthens both
What founders and leaders do so that scale and identity reinforce each other instead of trading off.
Formats
Pick the shape of your session
Talk
One idea, one voice, on the main stage.
Panel
Join one of the main-stage conversations. Propose co-panelists if you have them.
Workshop
Hands-on, about 50 minutes, in a smaller room with limited seats. People leave having built or practiced something.
Open
Bring the idea. We will help find the format that fits the program.
What we look for
How the committee reviews
A small program committee reads every application against the same five questions.
Sessions that sell a product or service are not selected.

Does the session speak to one of the three ideas?

Substance
Is there a clear point of view, and takeaways people can use the next day?

Credibility
Has the speaker built, led or lived what they talk about?

Stage
Can they hold a room? Links to past talks or a short video help a lot.

Mexico–Texas lens
Does it bring a perspective from the corridor? A plus, not a requirement.

Are speakers paid?
No. TechMex Austin is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Speakers donate their time and cover their own travel.
Do I need to be Mexican?
No. Speakers of any background are welcome. A perspective on Mexico, Texas or the corridor between them is a plus.
Can I propose a panel with other people?
Yes. Choose Panel and tell us who you would bring. The committee builds the final lineups.
Can I apply with more than one idea?
Yes. Send one application per session.
How long does the application take?
About 10 minutes. Your progress is saved on your device, so you can finish later.
Can I recommend someone else?
Yes. Send them this page, or email us their name, LinkedIn and the idea you think they should talk about.
